What to compare when choosing

For a portable air conditioner, compare the size of the unit, the room dimensions it is meant for, the venting setup and the included items. For a space heater, check the footprint, the power source, the number of settings and the controls. A smart thermostat should be checked against the existing heating and cooling system, including wiring and compatible setups described on the product page.

For a water heater, compare the power requirements, the installation method and the intended point of use, such as a kitchen sink or utility area.
